Safari dreams, wildlife abundance, savanna majesty

In focus · 2026

Kenya has quietly assembled an FTA toolkit few African peers can match — an Economic Partnership Agreement with the EU in force since July 2024 and a CEPA with the UAE signed in January 2025 — making Nairobi a duty-smart base for East Africa. The India connection is old and deep: bilateral trade runs near $3.5 billion, tilted toward Indian pharma, machinery and steel, and the Gujarati trading community that first arrived by dhow is so woven in that it was recognised as Kenya's 44th tribe in 2017.
